Rooted in years of experience, programs at The Amherst Preschool nurture a strong sense of community, confidence, and a deep respect for nature—planting the seeds for future stewards of the Earth.

Inspired by the Reggio-Emilia philosophy, our multi-age classrooms encourage collaboration, empathy, and leadership, allowing each child to learn at their own pace in a supportive, inclusive environment.

The Full-Day Program at The Amherst Preschool offers children extended time to explore and play outdoors across our beautiful 23-acre property, complemented by cozy, intentional time in one of our yurt classrooms.
Rooted in the Reggio-Emilia philosophy, each day unfolds with curiosity, discovery, and connection — guided by the children’s interests and imaginations.

The Full Day Program runs year round and offers a multi-age classroom community designed for students aged three to five.

Our Half-Day Programs offer children a meaningful blend of nature-based learning and child-led play in a focused, nurturing setting.
Each day includes intentional time outdoors.
Indoors, the environment is thoughtfully arranged to inspire curiosity and creativity.
This shorter format provides a gentle rhythm that fosters confidence, connection, and a love for the natural world.
